Tim Douglas
Founder and Head Coach

Tim Douglas became the University of Iowa Football Long Field Goal record holder when he connected on a 58 yard field goal against the University of Illinois in 1998. This kick also stands as the sixth longest field goal in Big Ten history. In addition to this accomplishment Coach Douglas is one of three college kickers ever to kick three field goals over 50 yards in a single major college football game. This performance earned him Dodge Ram Player of the Game, Big Ten Player of the Week and Sports Illustrated Special Teams Player of the Week honors. Prior to accepting a full scholarship to the University of Iowa, to play for Hayden Fry, Coach Douglas attended Scottsdale Community College and Plano Senior High School. He was a two year starter and the kicker on the 1994 Texas 5a High School State Championship Football Team.
Coach Douglas and his staff take a holistic approach to training and focus on preparing specialists mentally, physically and spiritually. He has spent years developing close personal relationships with many NCAA Division One Head Football Coaches across the country. These personal relationships enable Coach Douglas, in most cases, to bypass the Recruiting Coordinator and Special Teams Coach to go directly to the decision maker when it comes to recruiting and offering full scholarships. Two of his former players, John Goss and Brian Steele of the University of Cincinnati, moved on from Scottsdale Community College and received full scholarships. These personal relationships, a holistic approach and his real life experiences, separates TDKicking Academy from every other kicking camp or service in America.
John Goss
Healthy Living and Strength Coach

John Goss grew up in Grove City, Ohio. He played soccer from a young age and didn’t kick a football until late in his high school career. Coach Goss admits that at the time he knew nothing about proper kicking technique, routines, strength training and stretching or injury prevention. Because of his inexperience, and lack of guidance, Coach Goss suffered several injuries and encountered many challenges. This experience motivated him to develop a lifelong passion for strength training and fitness. After a marginally successful senior year, he did not receive any scholarship offers and struggled to find the right school for him. He was fortunate to hear about junior colleges from a family friend and spent two seasons kicking for Coach Douglas at Scottsdale Community College.
After refining his kicking and punting skills, Coach Goss accepted a full scholarship to Michigan State University. He had offers from six other Division One schools, but growing up in Big Ten country, and seeing the success Coach Douglas had at the University of Iowa, he realized his dreams of playing at this level, in legendary stadiums on national television had become a reality.
Today Coach Goss is TDKicking Academy's Healthy Living and Strength Coach. He knows firsthand the importance of technique, training and physical and mental conditioning. He believes, practice doesn’t make perfect, perfect practice makes perfect. Coach Goss helps students by teaching them these skills and tailoring his methods specifically to the needs of kickers and punters.
